Benjamin Carl Dendurent, born June 7, 1945
Twin to Robert Samuel Dendurent
Ben volunteered at the Brooklyn, New York, headquarters of the Watchtower Bible and Tract
Society from 1967 to 1971. He worked as a letter carrier in
Queens, New York for a number of years until about 1990 when he transferred to
Easthampton, Massachusetts so that he could be closer to his mother. However, on July 1,
1991, Ben fell while on his postal route. He suffered a severe head injury and nearly
died. Although he was eventually able to return to work, he had many health problems until
his death.
Ben had many personal interests. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting. He liked fishing
when he was younger. He enjoyed learning about nature and always passed on his copies of
The National Geographic Magazine to younger people.
