Christine Elizabeth Dendurent Biography

Christine Elizabeth Dendurent writes:

Andrew Allen Bock was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and spent most of his childhood in Mount Vernon, Iowa. He has a twin brother and a younger sister. Christy was born in Bangor, Maine, but was raised in Mount Vernon.

She and Andrew met through mutual friends during her senior year of high school.

Christy attended the University of Kansas to major in journalism while Andrew was a senior in high school. They began a long-distance relationship in 2000 that lasted more than three years - Christy at school in Kansas and Andrew attending Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.

In 2003, Christy graduated and moved back to Cedar Rapids where she was hired as a writer with RuffaloCODY, a company that works with nonprofit organizations in fundraising and enrollment management. Andrew had been working overnight security for the Collins Plaza Hotel, but soon traded the graveyard shift for daytime hours at The Home Depot and Formula Fun Indoor Karting.

In January 2004, Christy and Andrew purchased a home in Cedar Rapids, and later got engaged in March. No one knew they were expecting when two puppies came along in April. Christy and Andrew are continuously entertained by Sully, a Yellow Labrador Retriever, and Sophie, a Great Pyrenees. Christy and Andrew were married on October 23, 2004 - the anniversary of Christy's maternal grandparents and Andrew' aunt and uncle, also on his mother's side.

Currently, Andrew is planning to start his own lawncare business. He enjoys cars, making improvements around the house, and boating. In addition to her full-time job, Christy does freelance editing for Buckle Down Publishing, her mother' company. She enjoys movies, spending time with friends and family, and planning and organizing.
